Waiting On A Friend: Northern Cardinal Birdette

Stop it! He is too cute!

This is my friend, the male Northern Cardinal. He drops by my house every day to say hello, usually with his lady following close behind. I hear the cardinal pairs calling back and forth on my morning walks. The male sitting on a fence post will call out, "tooweep, toooweep!" And then, from a tree or two away, the female calls back or flies down to meet him. They are just amazing birds and bring a smile to my face every time I see that flash of red.

My friend here kinda reminds me of Santa's little helper... Merry Christmas!!
