Tis The Season: Northern Cardinal with Holly

It's the first of December and yes, I have started to hear Christmas songs on the radio. So I'm getting into the spirit with my lovely friend, the Northern Cardinal, on his holly perch. Usually wherever there is a male Cardinal, the female isn't far behind (or ahead). They are practically inseparable except for nesting and brooding time, when they take turns finding food for the youngsters. I imagine my Cardinal is awaiting his ladyfriend's arrival. Taking a moment to ring in the holiday season!
