Willie Nelson makes a good song, dang it! This song has a country Hawaiian style to it. Makes sense that Willie spends a lot of his down time in Maui, he has that feeling. This song can be seen as sad or sweet, or both. A man, who is so in love with a woman, is overcome with grief when she is gone. She was all that was good in his life, so now his only comfort comes from remembering her lovely idiosyncrasies. "She slipped into the silence of my dreams last night/ wondering from room to room turning on each light./ Her laughter spills like water from the river to the sea/ And I'm swept away from sadness clinging to her memories." I see my Leiothrix as missing his sweetheart or thinking of a loved one and wishing us well. He's not as gloomy sad as the song, more hopeful and full of love.
