In Hawaii, we have bourgainvilleain all different colors and shapes. My favorite color is the light orange bougainvillea. They are vibrant and calming, thorny and soft, scrawny yet full of life. My 'Anianiau pair found a spike-free section on this bougainvillea branch. The 'Anianiau is an endemic Hawaiian honeycreeper. Their beaks are shorter than most creepers, but still longer than the song birds. They are found in the forests of Kauai. I love these little birds. They make me happy.
