Baby, I Love You: 'Akohekohe Pair with Lehua

The 'Akohekohe is a funny looking bird. They have a rockin' white crest and polka dots all over. With all this flair, 'Akohekohes are difficult to miss, but unfortunately, they are very close to extinction. Hawaii conservation organizations are working hard to bring up numbers by protecting habitats, removing invasive plants and predators like rats and mongoose.

My 'Akohekohe pair are blissfully enjoying a beautiful day with sweet Lehua blossoms and kisses that would lift you off your feet.
