Angel Eyes: Pueo Hawaiian Owl

Owls are my faves- love their big glowing eyes and rotund fluffy bodies. The Pueo, Hawaiian Short-eared Owl, is one of the cutest owl in the whole world. They remind me of Russian nesting dolls. The Pueo is a ground owl, nesting on valley floors with nests of tall grass and twigs. Unlike most owls, the Pueo is active in the daytime. Every once in a while I will see one swoop overhead in the evening, but for the most part they get business done earlier.
