Cardinals are not native to Hawaii, but they are so beautiful. The male's bright red plumage can be seen even when they perch way up in a tree, especially if you hear their call. Cardinals are some of the biggest romantics. The male courts the female every year as if it was the first date and feeds her while she nests. When the babies hatch, the male also takes turns tending the nest so Mama can have some "me" time. What a gentleman!
